**Video tour of room at end of post!
Having been to Vegas already a few times, I’ve always admired the tall, chic and contemporary Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and knew I wanted to stay there at some point. When I found out one of the biggest travel conferences, Virtuoso Travel Week, was being held at the Aria and Bellagio next door, I thought, “What better excuse to finally check it out?”
I had heard about the Cosmo’s multiple pool atmospheres including an adults only pool (which I unfortunately didn’t have time to visit during the busy week), and luxurious and upscale party scene (Marquee Nightclub) and was very intrigued. I also loved the purple light and shiny look it was rocking. So for four nights I had myself booked in a Terrace Studio Fountain View room.
SPLURGE ON THE ROOM! It is SO worth it to have the big balcony to relax on at night overlooking the strip and Bellagio Fountain and all the beautiful lights. It’s so much fun to look at and also provides a one-of-a-kind nightlight at night for those like me with a childish fear of the dark. GET A ROOM WITH A VIEW! You won’t regret it.
The hotel and casino are gorgeous; the rooms large, spotless, and nicely decorated with contemporary art and mermaid-like shiny shower tiles that I fell in love with. There are large bathtubs for relaxing, very comfy big beds, large sofas, and nice spacious counters for working on a computer or laptop if needed in the rooms.
My one and only complaint about the room is that it has no floor-length mirror or way to check out your outfit before leaving for the day or evening. I had to dangerously stand on the tub a few times to even get a half view. Really guys? So many people come to Vegas to go out, be with friends, and go to formal restaurants or events, a full-length mirror is really a necessity.
The housekeeping is consistent and probably one of the best I’ve experienced in any hotel. They see to every detail and organize everything beautifully and spotlessly.
I did decide to spoil myself and shell out the cash to eat at the Wicked Spoon, the resort’s buffet restaurant. It is expensive (which is normal for a Vegas buffet) but extremely delicious and worth it. All the food is high quality and fresh–not sitting out for a long time like you might expect from many buffets. There is tons to choose from and some really unique dishes like firecracker mac ‘n’ cheese and tuna poke bowls. I highly recommend a visit at the Wicked Spoon while you’re in town—even if not staying at Cosmo.
The room service food is really tasty, hot, and quite fast as far as room service goes, but not without a price tag attached. As is normal in most resorts on the strip, a burger and fries delivered to the room totaled up to about $35 (tip included). All food in Vegas is starting to be priced similarly the past couples times I’ve been.
There is also a game you can play on your phone that seemed like it would be amusing (although I didn’t personally have much time for that either). You’ll get a text from Rose, the “resident mischief-maker” who is also actually like a personal hotel concierge. She will take you on a scavenger hunt sort of experience around the resort, revealing little surprises and texting you witty and bold comments every so often. Her personality is unique to the charm and atmosphere of the Cosmopolitan itself—a ‘chatbot’ unlike any other you’ll find in the hotel industry.
